Ooh La La Design Studio's First Ever Contest With, TDAC



Hey Beautiful People!
Are you hungry?? Well then you've stopped at
the right blog. Welcome to Ooh La La Design Studio's
first EVER, contest! It's painfully simply folks. I would
really love to know what are your favorite comfort foods?
Is it chicken pot pie, or mac and cheese? Maybe beef
stew or quiche? How about Shrimp and grits?
Or maybe Ho Ho's or a Funny Bone?
Whatever it is just share it in a comment left here.

has helped me embrace the foodie inside me. Over 100

    I'm italian and I should say my preferred dish is pasta or pizza but one of the things I love the most is : gratin potatoes with a lot of pieces of baked ham and a LOT of mozzarella:)

  10. Hi Vanessa, I'm happy to be a part of your contest. I love your Chef girl, My comfort food would be fresh baked breads (any kind) with butter, I love thin slices of cheese on wheat crackers, also pasta and a hot cup of herbal tea. This food comforts my soul! Big Hugs!!!

  17. Oh my comfort dish is Dublin Coddle (see here http://simplysplendiferous.com/2011/06/dublin-coddle-a-dish-for-all-seasons.html) or a poached egg on top of Colcannon (another traditional irish potato dish). Can you guess where I'm from?

  18. Hmmmm, so hard, my current favorite is Indian Butter Chicken over raw spinach, yummmmmmm and avacado's blended with cocoa and dates, it's like a decadent super creamy pudding that's food for the brain ;) Now I have to go and make some!

  22. I love this book so much and followed a tweet to discover you... loving your art while I am lingering!!! My favorite comfort food has to be custard... warm custard and baked apples, warm custard on ice-cream... just custard!!! Love it!!!

  24. Chocolate! Why hasn't anyone mentioned chocolate? That has been my life-long comfort food. Just the chocolate--not in a recipe. Plain, dark chocolate. Yum....

    Ok, since it's the season, I love cooking with pumpkin. Pumpkin pancakes and pumpkin bread from TDAC, of course. I'd LOVE to have the book. Hint. Hint. :D

    I use the leftover pureed pumpkin in other things--like pasta even.

My favorite dish, winter and summer, day and night is commonplace pasta dish - pasta but deliciously seasoned and scientifically fresh basil, garlic, olive oil, a few sprigs of parsley - pasta al dente , of course - friendly Vanessa mniaaaaaam

  33. oooh im pregnant so food is constantly on my mind at the moment haha!! what a great contest! My favourite comfort food would have to be a chunky veggie soup in the middle of a cold stormy day!! The first food that came to mind was chocolate but I don't think of that as a comfort food anymore but more of a necessity!!! :) Great to stop by your blog again it always makes me smile!!

  36. This may sound crazy to some but my comfort foods are grits with over easy eggs mixed in so the yolks turn them yellow with a little salt and pepper or a big bowl of oatmeal with hot buttered toast mmmmm heaven:-) Congratulations for being featured good job.

  38. Hey Vanessa - loved your illo for this book and as always you are such an inspiration. My favorite comfort food most of the time? Definitely potato-based, ie. fried, mashed, hashed, or poutined (yum!)

    HOWEVER...at this time of year, I have to say that TDAC for me stands for: This Diva Adores Cookies! You know what I'm talking about: holiday-homemade-been-in-the-family-forever recipes, melt in your mouth goodness (no calorie counting allowed) and "why didn't I make more!" cookies....my alltime fave: "thimble" cookies (aka Santa's Thumbprints) You can find my recipe here, enjoy!

    My favorite dish is a roast chicken with potatoes around, all cooked together in the oven. Not exactly diet food, but so delicious!

  42. I love a grilled cheese sandwich, with the toast thick and buttery and the cheese, sharp and tangy. Now cut it in half and dip that in some thick tomato basil soup, and as you take a bite, a tiny bit of the soup and cheese drip lusciously down your chin. Yum!!!

    Okay that is it! oh and maybe about 1000 cookies. Always have room for Oreos and Big glass of milk to dunk it into. AH!!!!

To name a tiny fraction of my favorite comfort foods: banana fritters, falafel sandwiches, shepherd's pie, just about any Ethiopian dish, grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup, all things potato, Szechuan orange chicken... And I'll have all of your illustrations for dessert. :)

  55. My favorite comfort food: croquetas. Maybe you don't know about it, but is an easy dish: boiled egg in pieces into béchamel sauce, rolled in egg and breadcrumbs... Hmmmmmmm

My grandma's Spanish Goulash (made with Mac & Cheese), Cornbread, Gooseberry Pie, Fried Chicken and Mashed Potatoes, Homemade Bread and Jam, and those Corndogs covered with Mustard that you get at the fair! I'm getting so hungry just thinking about all my favorites. I'd better stop now!
