Nessa's World( Watercolor Wednesdays)

My childhood was filled with Golden and Peterpan records on a portable record player. I could never find the little yellow inserts that went into the 45's so they wobbled while they played. I loved going to Toyland!!! All I had to do was say the magic words. Haluna, Haluna, fe fi fo to the land of toys I wish to go. And then the man on the record would ask, " Are you there yet???" he he he he! Pixie sticks and other treats, the circus and clowns and fairies! Hours of jacks with my sister Coy and paddle ball contest! Yes and hours of Star Trek, Lost in Space, Ultra Man, Petticoat Junction, The Addams Family, The Monsters, I Love Lucy, Hazel, Top Cat, Bugs Bunny
Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse, and the list goes on.
Gee those were the days!
Have a good one!

Ohhhh, I loved my little record player! Drove my family mad playing the same records over and over and over again! Love this Illustration too! Thank you for your incredibly sweet words on my blog. I responded but didn't know if you'd been back to see. No new posts yet, I'm still working on clumsy.

What a gift you have, to be able to recall such fond childhood memories and translate them into art for all to enjoy! There was a wealth of inspiration that took root during those hours of spinning old records and watching many of those TV shows, no matter how hard the adults tried to warn us that it would rot our minds! Hee hee! And for the "record,"my teenage son received a new record player and is now experiencing the "magic" of old vinyl from his parents' collections.

Haluna, Haluna, fe fi fo to Nessa's World I wish to go! Oh man, I remember those yellow discy thingies. And I remember putting the record needle on my fingers to see what song my fingerprints played. I love the look on this little girl's face! Aah, good times, good times!

Been running around trying to catch a bunch of nekkid rugrats. But I think I've got them under control now. Yeeehawwwwww!

Jeez, Girlie! You sure know how to take a sister back in the wayback machine! All those memories are mine, yours, and judging by your comments, countless others.

That is a most beautiful illustration. Nessa's world is whimsical and a great place to spend time.

Love you so much, Nessa. Hope we can talk soon.
