Mud Flap Jack

Mud Flap Jack
Knew where all the local mud holes
where at!
His mama tried to keep him clean
at him often she would scream
"Jack you best come back here
as clean as when you left here!"
Jack had magic sneakers that stayed
clean no matter what he did!
Mud Flap Jack such a special little kid.
he he he he!!
Happy Week to all.

  1. Mud Flap Jack is adorable. I can relate not that I was a mud lover. My hair always was nicely done, after coming from outside my hair was all over the place. Sometimes, my mom wasn't amused.
I have a little gift for you on my Wednesday post.

  2. Oh, Mud Flap Jack reminds me of myself when I was a kid. Accept, maybe he is a little more mindful of his safety? ;) I was the type of kid who always jumped before looking. Mud Flap Jack, on the other hand, looks as if he knows exactly what he is jumping into! Cute illustration, Vanessa! I love it!

You've got to love a boy with a grin like that!

The best thing about being a children's book artist is that you get to stay in touch with that child inside... Love it v!

  19. I loves me some Mud Flap Jack! I wish I could find a pair of sneakers like his for myself. Of course, they'd have to be stiletto sneakers that stay clean, no matter how much wear they'd get during New York fashion week! HA!

Love you, Momma. It was great to hear your voice last week. Hope we can talk again soon, girlie!

  28. Oh Nester, I woke up to your message, and just wanted you to know that I'm sending big hugs your way! I found that awesome Japanese proverb and I think it just captures exactly what I must always remember during the difficult times - so I am so happy that I found it to post this week of all weeks. Give yourself the gift to allow yourself to feel those emotions, move through them, and then "stand up eight" again soon. You know that I'm rootin' for ya way over here on the West (or Left coast as my No. Carolina friend calls it). xoxo - Shirley

  30. Hey Vanessa! I was a Mud Flap Jack... except for those magic sneakers. I could still use a pair of those. I always buy a new pair and say " I'm keepin' these in perfect condition!" but, since they aren't the magic variety, they soon become old, worn and dirty. I actually had a red pair of Converse just like your adorable fellow. Great stuff Vanessa! God has truly blessed you with a special talent. I love stopping by and seeing what special treat you'll have in store. you never disappoint!
