Janelle Monáe - Tightrope ft. Big Boi [OFFICIAL VIDEO]

Here is something to make you smile and dance around. I really love my music and really good music
at that. Here is a wonderful singer and dancer Named Janelle Monae. I call her the female James Brown.
I really love the the whole vibe of this girl. She has the 60's thing down pat and I am really digging it.
As many of you know I am a fan of Outkas and Janelle has been seen in one of their many videos.
I love the lyrics of the song very inspiring. Take a look and have a great weekend.
Kwan, You know your stuff Dude. Thanks!
Tip on the Tightrope!

The illustration is great and you are right about the song lyrics! I can't listen to it while I work because I start jookin' in my seat! Haha!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and for continuing to be a huge inspiration for me! Rock on baby girl!!!

Also, in the video I love the female she has as a backup dancer. Her smile is so beautiful and I think it's funny how she works so hard to keep her face on camera throughout the video! LOL! You have to watch her with that in mind, it's too funny. As well as the moment when that heiffer nurse rats em out and demonstrates the dancing to the guards, too too funny!!

This was FABULOUS! She is astounding! I love her style and her method of dance is SMOKIN'!
I remember seeing her on some hip-hop fashion show on BET and SHE of course was the BEST thing about the whole show! Her hair is off the chain! Beautiful!

Thank you, pretty lady, for sharing this great talent along with your own!

This is absolutely WOW!!! You're right about having the J.B. thing down, and also the 60's feel and look---and some of the *hipcat* jazz vibe too.
Chillin' this morning with some classic Miles Davis I picked up last night---6 CDs!!!! I am in heaven!
I'll have to watch for her music; trying to find anything but YeeHaw music in Indiana is like looking for a needle in a haystack, if ya know what I mean..... ;)
Groove on Sister!

XXOO!!

This has been stuck in my head since you emailed it to me, V! Wonderful character design... if she ever does a children's book, she better call you. Didn't Andre 3000 do a kids show or book or something?

She's got such great energy (and moves)! You've captured her; I especially like the top left. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

OOoh, lady's got the MOVES! Smooooooooth. Oh my gosh, V, has she SEEN THIS??? She SHOULD! She may just pee her pants from excitement, make her hair stand up a little taller! This is great, and a fantastic song too!

Hope you're having a great weekend, lovey. xoxoxoxoxox

Hi Vanessa- This was awesome! Definitely made me move around :) I saw your comment over at "We Love to Illustrate!" and just wanted to come by an introduce myself. First off, thanks so much for the lovely words of encouragement :) You know, I AM very familiar with your work but just haven't gotten around to your blog. It's hard to keep up with all the talent out there these days. Really glad I found you tho and will be sure to start following.
Cheers,
Julissa :)

EEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYOOOOOOOOWWW!!!

NOW LISTEN UP! Because I am going to meet you for the first time and I won't be walking or running towards you BUT I AM GONNA BE DANCING SISTER!

YEAH! I'll be dancing.

That girl can groove. Oh yes. I needed this yesterday while I was shaking my booty. Oh well it was to Martha Reeves and the Vandellas Dancing In The Street, probably before you were born and then "It's A Shame"

This girl is pretty good and pretty. She has an added advantage for balance with her do. And I want two pairs of those shoes PLEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZ!

Tsup!
