She Got It Honest

Hello Blogger Friends,
Sure hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.
Mine was filled with lots of creativity and not just from me,
but my 10 year old Zoe. I have been encouraging Zoe to
get in touch with her artistic and creative side instead of
watching so much T.V and playing video games.
Children watch everything we do and though they might
not say a word they see EVERYTHING! That said, I've got to
be a really good example in all things, life, self, art, etc.
Zoe's school is really limiting the music and art programs in her
school, but both she I are determined to have expression
in both areas. I'm not leaving this up to anyone but me!
It is my joy to push my child and watch her do her thang too.
Go Zoe! Mama is SO proud of you.

Happy Day After Thanksgiving to you and your family! Creating with the little ones is always fun, and productive, too! Love to see the little sparks as they become stars in their own right!
Btw, where can I get somebody to push me around on a sled today? I can't move- I'm stuffed to the gills! ;o)

Yes, she obiously got it!
This are very good drawings for a ten years old girl. She has talent, that must be the heritage of her amazing mother.
I love your new winterpainting too.
Have a great weekend

Zoe's doing great---and I have no doubt you'll keep her on the right track with art and music! You're a GOOD MOM!!!!
(now, teach her about shoes and wigs too, and I will build a pedastle to put you on honey, and gold leaf it too!)
Sad that schools cut programs that TRULY benefit people in more ways than can be counted. They never cut sports, at least not here.
Recovering from Cajun Duck, huge pot of fresh greens, crawfish dressing, cranberry chutney and home made peach pie.....it was a GOOD day! ;)

XXOO~~♥

Hope you had a happy Turkey day Vee. Love this illustration and Zoe is gonna be just as talented as her mama it looks like. We always did our own art thing in my house. I'm sorry they are cutting back on the arts at her school, I think it's happening everywhere.

HAHAHA! Grumpy girl sure reminds me of my little one, and that could be my Peter -- he sure loved his technology. Aww, I LOVE it!

Goodness, you mean to tell me those dogs are Zoe's???? Holy deep fried turkey, I thought those were yours! Man, she is GOOOOOOOOOD, and she's only ten! I think you can start sitting back and have her fill in for you when you want to take a break, hehehehe.

XOXOXO!

Zoe got skills like her mom. It's good you encourage her creativity and imagination. It's so important and kids need time to be just kids especially now.

What a fun thing to be able to share with your daughter! And it looks like Zoe already infuses her characters with personality, just like her mom. Happy rest of the holiday weekend!

Wonderful illustration. Love the way his scarf is flying in the breeze. Good job Zoe! Really. My kids always drew and painted along with me. They are all grown up and very talented in everything they do. You're a good Mom Vanessa.

It is great to have her sit down beside me and share in similar interests. GREAT ILLOS!!!! I so wish I could take classes from you. Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for being so inspiring.

Happy belated Thanksgiving Vee! I hope the Christmas season will be filled with joy, peace and wonder! First of all I LOVE the new avatar! You ROCK! Hey there are some snowflakes falling... maybe my wife and I can reenact your wonderful illustration. I’d be on the sled.... hmmm maybe not :o) Love it Vee! ...And Zoe’s dogs are amazing! It took my 25 years to draw a dog that looked like it was alive and not a taxidermist’s craft project! Her little puppies are so full of life! The creative apple doesn’t fall far from the easel!

Your work is such a delight and I love it sooo very much!!!

Hey Vanessa,
Thanks for coming by my blog a while ago. My focus has been shifted and I just haven't been very active in the blogosphere these days. I was going to grad school, meanwhile my son was coming unglued at school. So I quit and started homeschooling. In addition to that, we've been on the rollercoaster of being renters in house that foreclosed.
Love your illustration and your daughter's work too.

Hi Vanessa! Thanks for checking out my blog! It's always great to meet a fellow FIT alumn. I came across the watercolor blog the other day and just loved your work so much it led me to this blog of yours which I can now say I am a big fan of! Your style is so whimsical and sweet - it would make the BEST animations too. I have a lot to learn so thank you for inspiring a budding artist like me!
