Making Do

I love to see children create and use their imagination. It's such a gift. My nephew Ben couldn't
find his superman costume for Halloween so he created one. Children somehow
know the power of a 300 thread count sheet and a pot. he he he he
This kid would take gold fish crackers and toss them in a bowl and have an
instant house pet! You go boy! Thanks Ben you make aunt Nester proud.
Have a happy day everyone! Get out and vote!

Aunt Nester? That's such a cute name!! LOL

Love the illo. I remember using pots and pans and empty paper towel rolls and my mom's aprons for make-believe!

What a cutie pie, I just love that he went right out and did it his own way! And I'm sure he looked even cuter with his own costume :)

Ben, you rock! With that imagination you're going to be a wonderful artist just like Aunt Nester! Fabulous.

So cute. It's true. Kids are so versatile. Until their minds are made up anyway. Like when they are convinced they won't take medicine, or whatever. You know how it is. I just followed you. Great stuff. You inspire me.

Oh, Vanessa, I just adore the illos you've done lately! I've missed coming here.

Isn't it wonderful when kids create their own toys? And they like their own creations better than store-bought ones, no matter what they look like. When we were moving, all the toys were packed away in boxes. My little one decided to turn her sneaker into an airplane and had a blast.

You are so correct about this. Children are so inspiring, with is one of the reasons that I love volunteering with art programs in the schools. Nothing quite like watching a child create to make you want to rush back home and spend a few hours in the studio.
Have a great weekend.

Who needs a costume when you have a super-pot and a super-blanky?! Great work... looks like imagination runs in the family!

Hee hee, so cute! Love the color and texture. My boss's son puts a pot on his head on a regular basis, so I did a poem and illo about it, but yours blows mine out of the water. Love it!
