The Gift

Here is my first sketch for the project. I'm still working on the character.
Not really sure if I like this first one just yet, so she may change.
I know that it will be an african american child and the other
an Asian child. It's coming up with a gift for each to give.
I wanted to do something that would speak to the talent in both childern. HELPPPPPPPP!!!!

Hi Vanessa, thanks for your kind comments about my bears and their Christmas Cards- they were really happy :) I love this sketch, I think the character looks fantastic and all those thoughts of gifts are great :)

I really admire how well you create expressions on your characters. The little girl in the foreground looks totally perplexed about what to purchase with her money... if it helps, I would vote for the art supplies. =)
I need to get going on my sketch for Watercolor Wednesday as well, seems like the clock ticks a little faster this time of year.

I think she's wonderful-- but that's your decision to make. :-)

You really have a knack for capturing people's expressions and doing so in a subtle way. Just love your characters.

I like her. As a sketch, she has a perfect position and even gives me cold, brrrrrr. But I think you don´t need some help, he he he. You always do it "fantasticly" (I don´t know if this work exists...)

You flatter me too much (and of course I like it ;) I'm glad things are okay for you. I think it takes a long time to feel closure on something difficult like that... especially because of her son. Anyway... I definitely will keep up a prayer for you and Hali's family. Take care dear sweet and amazingly talented friend!

She is wonderful, wonderful! Her stance and expression...you work wonders with just lines on paper, my dear friend. Looks like that money is just burning a hole right in her pocket.

Just love the expression on her little face! You can tell she's really got her thinking cap on. Can't wait to see it finished!
