Instinct
Red's instinct told her to head of to Granny's house right away, but she simply couldn't
resist just one dance with such a charming wolf. Oh why, oh why do we ignore
the voice in the core of our being that says, " Something is wrong fool,
don't be a sucker for this foolishness!" We somehow put it in the back of our minds.
Instinct is there for a very good reason.
It's your indicator that let's you know, something is fishy.
So the next time your gut says ,"Don't buy that car it's a lemon!!!!"
or "I needed to call you just to say I love you and I was thinking about you."
or "Don't marry this chick she's a mental case run don't walk to the nearest exit now!!!"
Listen up Yall!!! and I know you know what I mean.
He he he he he! Instinct, it's more than a fragrance use it!!

Hahaha! Oh, lady, you KILL me! It's more than a fragrance.... ! Fabulous fun, this one! Of course, they ALL are, but this tells me to get up and dance, against my better judgment. I have bad instincts. And a weak gut.
Can my wolf come over and play with your wolf?
LOL, this one made me laugh! I've gotta say you are just so clever and have a wonderful imagination. Thanks so much for stopping by and for your lovely comments on my painting video :D
Hilarious!! And good advice. I love it.
We don't always have the right instinct that's why we make wrong judgement.
I love this piece by instinct....and it seems to me that I can recall the scene from movie "dances with wolf".
Your art is so fun! Despite his sharp teeth, Red sure looks to be having the time of her life!
Every woman needs a little wolf in her man...lol! They look like they're having a hot time in the city! As usual, your wonderful humor, style and great talent has provided us with another fuj-filled illustration!
Hahaha lovely! Your imagination is awesome!! I always wonder why we always do the stuff we do against our better judgment... hmmmm.
Thanks for the graphic, I was wondering how to dress my new doll,
this is perfect!!!..as is everything else on your blog!!
Blessings,Flora
Well said, well drawn!!! :D
Totally agree! i used to ignore my instincts! that's why i was always trapped in regrets...
Lovely illo! thanks for sharing this fabulous creation and message. i must heed my instinct from now on
I love the red background. It's a fun illustration. Very well done.
We hear you, wise girlfriend, we hear you! That is wonderful, Vanessa - you are seriously brilliant.
Amazing illo. The concept, shape, color and life are perfect. Your creativity and skill need to be published in print.
What wonderful gestures in this piece as well as the feel of danger due to that deep red - great take on the topic and just a wonderful illustration overall... but of course that comes as no surprise. =) Hope you are having a good weekend.
First off I think this is brilliant. But I got a very different take from the image than from your post. Red looks really happy. This gave me the impression that not all wolves are bad--some are really good dancers! (I love the fragrance bit though.)
This Little Red reminds me of the one in Into the Woods...
She should think twice before spending time with that shady fella!
Nice one Vanessa ...love that brilant red!
Funnyyyyy...LOL very clever!!yeah :)
Lol great advice!

Thanks so much for the kind words my friend! Post all you like, I dig it. As for the facebook pics, well we shall see... I do tend to be a tad shy about sharing photos, guess that's why I'm not a photographer :).
Woops! Forgot to say how nice this image is... you know I like the limited color palette!
Love the hues you have used, and as usual your very unique and very awesome style.

oh, wow! your work always amazes me, you're just brilliant! and your words are so true!
Hi there me old chum, great bit of art as per usual, love that its just in red. I keep on treading on my instincts and invariably get trod on!! I did see little red wandering in the woods behind our house, a red fox anyway. Hope you are having a good week, I havnt been able to get a post on, blooming internet connection!!! but hope to tonight or tomorrow. Lots of love and hugs Jane xxx Hope you get over to little old England soon, are you hoping for a holiday?
Excellent post and commentary on instinct, if only we would listen! Love the playful and passionate illo. You sure have a way with imagery.
It's like visual jazz... great work1
wow, Vanessa...love your work. I wrote a little poem on your "Making Do" from Every Photo, and came to visit...And so glad I did. Marvelous. Stop by and see me sometime.
Love the color and playfulness of your painting. And, yes, we must learn to follow our gut more! The heart is a wonderful indicator, but can get us in trouble if we don't use our brains too!
Hi again Vanessa, sorry to disappoint you but that is not me in the photo! I have amended the blog as others think its me too. Nice to hear from you as ever hope you do make it over here one day it would be soooo nice to meet you, till then just have to keep up with each other like this. Love Jane xxxxx

Oh gosh - we've done images of a similar theme for this weeks illustration Friday topic! It's co-incidenence I promise!
I love all your pictures, and this one just struck me very suddenly because of the confident use of red. Lovely work!
how funny that we both thought of little red riding hood for 'instinct'!!
