Watercolor Wednesday "The Music Lesson

Two things that go together like Peanut butter and jelly? Kids and music!
I've had the pleasure of watching a bunch of kids at a party.
When the music came on everything changed. Boys under the age of 10
were busting moves that made me laugh and giggle. The girl too.
Kids just love music. It's a pity and shame that many of the music
programs have been taken out of our school. Music help builds the brain and
helps with self esteem and creativity. So give yourself, your child, or friend
a good dose of rock, gospel, hip hop or jazz and of course have a musical day!!!
Toot!

Magnificent! My daughter, who never resonated with soccer, dance, girl scouts, voice lessons, or any of the other things she tried, absolutely LOVES playing her viola. We are fortunate in that strings is part of the middle school cirriculum here.

lovely as ever Vanessa! I think we all have a tune that makes us want to get up and jiggle it a bit, oh for the energy of the young, now days I have just a little to much to jiggle, when I stop its still jiggling!! Lots of love Jane xx

Oh, I do like this - especially the boy with all that blue. It looks like an illustration to a particularly delightful tale of mischief.

VAnessa, thanks for stopping by my blog. As the mom of a teen girl I always say to folks who want my opinion that if you want a happy and bright child start with music and art. My daughter played violin for 8 years and it helped her in so many ways. I agree about music and kids.. its like breathing. I want to send you a copy of my treasury that is ending tonite of my tribute to Lewis CArroll.. email where i can send it and I shall!

Oh my, I love the moods that these inspire! Moody Blues and Stomp your feet to the cello music...:) Makes me want to dance!

I'm so jealous, I wish I had time to post more than once a week, but sometimes it's so hard doing just the one! Happy Thursday, love!

All I can say is, "Ooh La La!!" Wonderful colors and design. The flowers on that cello is phenomenal, Vanessa! And, you're absolutely right, music, like the arts, is necessary for well being of children.

Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about! Oh, Miss V, these are stellar! I love the decorations on the girls instrument! Why can't they all be decorated like that, for real!? And the boy's picture reminds me of evenings listening to great jazz at the Blue Note in NYC. Coooool, daddy-o!

I love all the colors, and the wonderful looks of concentration on their faces. They look happily lost in the rhythm of the tunes! :)

What beautiful colors and tenderness that these children musicians! It seems to hear the cheerful and carefree note that flutter in! And because they are proud of their interpretation!
