Little Mama had tenacity. Even without books available to her she founds ways to read the messages that life left for her to find.

Today, I'am thinking about Mother's all over the world. Doesn't matter what color, race, language or village. Mother's are very important and very powerful. It' more than doing the laundry and feeding the child. It' more than the buying of toys and PTA meeting. It's so much more than just those things. It's a mother's heart and what she puts into her children. The Love and the care she shows them. The lessons taught and learned. These things will last forever. Wishing you all a very Happy Mother's Day!

I love working digitally, but sometimes I just have to go back to traditional paint and collage elements. I have been so stressed recently and I find that when I take the time to pull out my paintbox and collage papers and glue, that it actually relaxes me in a way that nothing else does. What do you do creatively that helps mangage in your life. I'm interested??

Hello Blogger Family, It's been a while, but I have taken to blogging again. We will see if it sticks cause I have a pile of work on my desk, but I miss my friends so much. Hope that all of had a wonderful Holiday and Christmas. I have already celebrated the New Year, but for those of you who are waiting..... Well,... Happy New Year to you!!! May it bring your hearts much joy and happiness and lots of creativity energy! I have been doing lots and lots of books and things, but I haven't written and illustrated anything of my own in a long while. I was playing with some China Markers that I purchased and I really had fun doing so. It was nice to put pencil to paper again. I have been working digitally and hardly ever get to do that. I am working out a new style and different approach to my work. I am also working on my writing again. Kinda like a journey to me. Well, I put china marker to paper and this little girl came out. She is Lil V or Vanessa. A version of my 4 year old self. I hope to share stories of my childhood in a humorous way to excite and inspire children. I would love to hear your thoughts if you are willing? Wishing you All a very Happy New Year!

An interview with Deborah Kalb

Hello Everyone! Lots going on here and there. I won the Jane Addams Peace Award and went to NYC to receive the beautiful award. Debbie Levy and I received the award for our book, "We Shall Over Come"published by Disney -Hyperion and Jump At The Sun Press. We had an awesome beautiful day. I also got the pleasure and joy of seeing Ludwigs Bemelmens's Madeline and that was awesome! It's on it's way to Eric Carle Museum. If you are in the area please check it out! It was beautiful.
